School spent more than £36,000 on New York trip and alcohol

It spent more than £36,000 on a trip to New York.

Stone Soup Academy in Nottingham breached numerous rules and used more than £1,200 on alcohol for an event.
The investigation by the Department for Education also found a head teacher had been given a 13.7% pay rise without proper scrutiny or rationale.

School founder Chris Manze said internal controls had been "strengthened" and the trust was working closely with the DfE to ensure compliance.

Those involved in the poor decisions had since left the organisation.

Ice skating legends Torvill and Dean were back in Nottingham for a special reason ⛸️

They were launching The 2027 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships, which will take place at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham next spring.

The series will also include the new Synchro9 competition, which is set to become a new sport at the Winter Olympics in 2030.

Adventurers used to fighting monsters in fantasy worlds will soon be able to explore an alternate and magical version of 18th Century Derby - called "Darbye".It follows six months of research by a group of Dungeons & Dragons players and Derby Libraries, delving into local archives.

Derby reacts to England win

I spent the week setting up as many venues across Derby and Derbyshire as possible to send me UGC footage from this game, which was delayed multiple times due to weather issues. I wanted this video to capture World Cup fever from across a range of establishments to capture the magnitude of the occasion. I woke up at 4am, poised and ready to edit, and published it before my shift in order to maximise potential. And then I got the train to work! Joy!

Fixing up the farm for Tinie Tempah

Volunteers with Nottingham RockCorps donated 4 hours of their time at a local farm in exchange for tickets to an exclusive gig at Rock City.

This was a really fun film and edit, and a great example of multi-platform working as my work was used to make an online article, the vertical video playlist on the website and a radio package as well as socials.

Heated Rivalry was at the top of Google Trends at the time, due to the popular ice hockey romance TV series/book gaining traction, and so I thought it was a nice tie in.
